Emergency Crews Respond To Truck Fall From Baton Rouge, Louisiana Interstate

On Monday, July 19, 2004, around 12:30 PM, a bob-tail tractor trailer traveling south on I-110 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana went over the side of the interstate.

On Monday, July 19, 2004, around 12:30 PM, a bob-tail tractor trailer traveling south on I-110 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana went over the side of the interstate.

The truck fell approximately 30 feet to the ground. The trailer contained 50 pound bags of rice.

Baton Rouge Fire Department responded with Engine 12, Aerial 1, Chief 35, Rescue 93 and 94, HazMat 96 and 97, and Service 91. East Baton Rouge EMS responded with an ALS unit and supervisor.

The driver was extricated in 20 minutes and transported to Baton Rouge General Hospital with serious but survivable injuries.

BRFD personnel remained onscene to mitigate the diesel from the truck's saddle tanks.
