Pennsylvania Crews Battle Large Warehouse Fire

It took crews over 60 minutes to get the fire under control.

Erie, PA - At 4:09 a.m. on Nov. 7, th Millcreek Township Fire Companies West Lake, West Ridge, Lake Shore and Millcreek paramedics were dispatched to 2727 West 18th St for a commercial structure fire. The business builds roof trusses, floor trusses and related materials.

A Millcreek police officer on routine patrol came across the fire. When crews arrived on scene, the roof of the structure had already collapsed into the structure.

The chief from West Ridge was the first officer to arrive on location. Defensive operations were established.

When Engine 9 (West Lake) arrived, firefighters hit the hydrant at the entrance to the complex. Tower 10 (West Ridge) took a position on side Alpha. The crew from Tower 10 immediately went into master stream operations. Personnel from Engine 4 assisted with suppression and water supply.

It took crews over 60 minutes to get the fire under control. Overhaul operations took quite a while. Crews cleared the scene around 7:45am.

The fire is under investigation.
