New Jersey Building Burns

The fire remains under investigation.

At about 4 a.m. on Aug. 16, firefighters from Collingswood and Westmont (Engine 1512) fire companies were dispatched to 900 Harrison Ave. for a building fire.

Companies arrived to find a 250X150 building with heavy smoke showing. The fire quickly escalated to a second-alarm.

The fire was located in an old Marine supply center which had been converted over to hold supplies for a nearby business.

Firefighters from other communities called to assist included Audubon,Mt Ephraim Rescue, Gloucester City, Camden City, Pennsauken Cascade 11-4, Merchantville Westmont and West Collingswood Heights.

The fire was placed under control at about 5:30 a.m. Also responding were Camden Counties Fire Police, canteens and fire coordinator.

The fire is under investigation by the Camden County Fire Marshals Office and Collingswood Fire Prevention. There were no reported injuries at the scene.
