Fire Heavily Damages Rhode Island Home

Shortly after noon on the afternoon of July 11, 2004, Cranston firefighters responded to the corners of Laurel Hill Avenue and Dunedin Street for a house fire.

Cranston, RI- Shortly after noon on the afternoon of July 11, 2004, Cranston firefighters responded to the corners of Laurel Hill Avenue and Dunedin Street for a house fire. Engine 3 was first to arrive and reported heavy fire showing from a 2 story wood framed dwelling.

The fire appeared to have started on the exterior of the building and spread inside. Engine 3 knocked down all of the exterior fire and then moved inside with Engine 2 to extinguish all of the fire that had spread to the interior. Ladder company members and firefighters from the Special Hazards vented the structure as well as performed searches, all of which turned up negative.

It took approximately 45 minutes to bring the fire under control.
