Ohio Crew Battles Structure Fire

Firefighters from the Harrison Township Division of Fire were called to a extra company structure fire Wednesday, April 16. Just after 9 a.m., the Pickaway County, OH Sheriff's Office 9-1-1 center received numerous calls reporting a working fire.

All the callers were located in the Mann's mobile home park at 4800 Duvall Road, and advised that a trailer was fully involved in fire. Another mobile home was in imminent danger. .

Two unit firefighters from the Harrison Township Fire Department responded with Engine Co's 801 and 802, while duty officer Capt. Eric Edgington responded as Battalion 801. While responding, dispatchers continued to update Capt. Eddington, who requested an extra engine from Scioto Township and all off-duty personnel were recalled. .

Capt Edgington assumed command. He found a large outbuilding fully involved in flames and the fire was less than 10 feet from a residential structure. Crews from Engine 802 and 801 quickly advanced two 1.75-inch attack lines to suppress the fire and protect the exposure. .

Harrison Township firefighters quickly got the fire under control. One resident was treated for minor smoke inhalation.

Although the original structure was a total loss, no other structures were damaged. There were no firefighter injuries.
