At 7:38 p.m. on March 20, the New Orleans Fire Department responded to a 911 call to 1700 St. Ann Street.

The first company arrived in four minutes to find a vacant three-story wood frame dwelling heavily involved and threatening extension to adjacent buildings.

The incident commander immediately advanced alarms to contain damage to the fire building. Utilities were disabled at the corner of St. Ann and Claiborne aiding firefighters in positioning trucks to put as much water on the structure as possible, while police monitored interstate traffic due to heavy smoke hindering visibility.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation
