On Tuesday July 3, at 5:33 p.m., Bay District volunteers in Southern Maryland were dispatched for vehicle fire next to a residence. Within seconds, Engine 33 and Engine 91 were on the road along with chiefs 3, 3B, and 9B. Communications advised Chief 3 that the garage was also involved, and Companies 4,6, and 49 were dispatched.

At 5:41 p.m., Chief 3B arrived on side A with a vehicle fully involved with extension to the garage area. The trash line and red line were deployed. The chief also noticed that the propane tank from the van also was involved.

Foam was placed into the red line. Minutes later, Engine 91 and Truck 3 arrived and crews assisted with the effort. Firefighters aboard Engine 43 assisted with overhaul and cooling the hot spots. Tanker 4 supplied 6, and Engine 91 and Engine 91 supplied Engine 33.

Chief 3 was in charge of Poplar Ridge Road command, while Chief 3A had the operations division. Units cleared the scene at 6:53 p.m.
