Spencer, Mass. (June 29, 2004) -- Firefighters were called to a three story apartment building for a fire on the rear deck.
Within minutes of the initial call, the rear of the whole building was fully involved. The fire quickly spread throughout the whole building.
Crews were evacuated from the building during the fire as the second floor began to buckle.
Firefighters from Spencer received mutual aid from several surrounding towns.
This was the second fully involved structure fire within a 24 hour period. Both fires required mutual aid from the same towns. Crews at the scene of the first fire were on scene for over 15 hours.
