Early Morning Blaze Destroys New York House

The firefighters had a very difficult time controlling the blaze as it quickly swept through the old house. In addition the firefighters had a problem with the water supply.

Town of Wappinger, N.Y. -- On June 29, 2004 at approximately 5:10 am the Chelsea Fire Company was dispatched to a reported structure fire at 80 Easter Rd. Chelsea was also initially assisted with preplanned mutual aid from the Castle Point & Hughsonville Fire Departments as well as an ambulance from the Town of Wappinger. Upon the arrival of firefighters, fire was already venting through the roof of the structure. The resident had managed to escape the house on his own. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
