California Departments Participate in Structure Fire Training

Two 7,500 square foot buildings were burned to the ground in order for the fire department to test out a new protection foam.

Apple Valley Fire Protection District, Victorville Fire and San Bernardino County Fire Departments took part in structure fire training on June 2, 2007 at the Southern California Logistic Airport, formerly the George Air Force Base in Victorville, California. Two 7,500 square foot building, once housing United States military personal were burned to the ground in order for the fire department to test out a new protection foam the department were using. The building were dated to be circa 1940, World War II era and once housed officers at the air base , the base has since been deactivated and is being used as an airport.

Forty fire personal and chief officers were on hand to oversee unified command and structure protection along with a chance to see how well the departments communicated with each other.
