Pennsylvania Emergency Crews Handle Wreck

Companies were on scene for over one hour.

In Ephrata Township, Penn. on Thursday, Oct. 23, a collision was reported around 8:31 p.m. in the area of Royer Road and Meadow Valley Road.

Engine Company 16 (Lincoln Volunteers) along with EMS from 112 (Ephrata Ambulance) were advised of multiple calls of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection with conflicting reports. Ephrata Borough Police Department requested the Rescue Local be transmitted as they had a priority one patient with confinement in the one vehicle.

Dispatchers quickly transmitted the rescue assignment adding Rescue Squad 115 (Ephrata Rescue Squad) along with Ephrata Hospital's Medic 4 and a second BLS from 112 to the scene. Chief 16 took command. The crew from Engine 16-2 split up, and provided medical and fire protection as additional units arrived to assist.

Crews were on scene for over one hour assisting police department with their investigation.
