Fire Quickly Knocked in Maryland Construction Site

Lines were stretched, and a fire involving construction equipment was quickly extinguished.

On May 22, firefighters from Prince George's, Howard and Montgomery counties (MD) responded to a fire reported at 14750 4th St. in Laurel. The location is a four story multi-family complex under construction. Units from Laurel (Co.10) arrived and reported light smoke showing from the top floor.

Lines were stretched and a fire involving construction equipment was quickly extinguished.

Despite challenges accessing all parts of a construction site, and the numerous workers still operating during the alarm, no injuries were reported. The fire was held with the companies assigned on the box alarm for approximately an hour and a half. The cause of the fire is being determined by investigators from the Prince George's County Fire and EMS Department.
