Budd Lake Dept. Battles Camper Fire on Rt. 80

A couple was moving from New York City to Ohio and lost nearly everything they had in the camper.

On Saturday Night April 28th Budd Lake Firefighters responded to Route 80 West at exit 25 for the car fire, upon arrival they found a small camper fully involved in fire. Squad Company 56 stretched an inch and three-quarter hose line and started knocking down the fire while the New Jersey State Police closed two lanes of traffic.

Squad 56 and Engine 59 worked the fire and had it under control in fifteen minutes while the Budd Lake First Aid Squad stood by. The couple was moving from New York City to Ohio and lost nearly everything they had in the camper. The New Jersey State Police are investigating the fire and there were no injuries at the scene.
