Maybrook, New York FFs Battle House Fire

Firefighters mounted an aggressive interior attack.

At 0423, the Maybrook Fire District was alerted for a structure fire on Beattie Road in New Windsor. As units were responding New Windsor Police arrived to a well involved private dwelling.

Maybrook Chief Charles Woznick upon being advised of the report requested a second alarm. A short time later an additional tanker task force was requested since this was in an an area without hydrants. Firefighters mounted an aggressive interior attack and contained the fire within about an hour.

Units from Washingtonville, Salisbury Mills, Campbell Hall, Coldenham, Montgomery, Mountainville, Chester, Monroe and Walden along with Town of New Windsor Ambulance assisted on scene. Pine Bush & Bullville were on standby.

There were no injuries in the fire which destroyed the home. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the New Windsor Fire Marshal's Office.
