Georgia Firefighters Battle Suspicious Warehouse Blaze

A suspicious late evening fire destroyed a warehouse belonging to the American Packaging Company on Spectrum Drive in Lawrenceville Georgia on Sunday, June 6, 2004.

A suspicious late evening fire destroyed a warehouse belonging to the American Packaging Company on Spectrum Drive in Lawrenceville Georgia on Sunday, June 6, 2004.

Heavy black smoke was visible for miles as Gwinnett County Firefighters worked to control the blaze. Approximately 40 firefighters operating 19 pieces of equipment were dispatched to the scene. Multiple ladder pipes and several hand lines were placed in operation.

The cause of the fire is undetermined and an investigation is ongoing. Gwinnett County Firefighters have been vigilant as have other metro Atlanta Firefighters due to a string of arson fires, which have plagued the area.
