Connecticut Crews Transport Four Patients After Crash

On June 22, 2004 just before 0800 hours the Salem and Gardner Lake Volunteer Fire Companies were dispatched for a MVA on RTE 85 in Salem, Connecticut.

On June 22, 2004 just before 0800 hours the Salem and Gardner Lake Volunteer Fire Companies were dispatched for a MVA on RTE 85 in Salem, Connecticut (initial response was one Ambulance (BLS), one Heavy Rescue and one Engine Tanker from GLVFC and one First Responder unit and one Engine Tanker from SVFC.)

On first arrival, a Lifestar Helicopter was requested on standby along with two additional ambulances (BLS from Colchester Vol. Fire Co. and Oakdale Vol. Fire Co.) and two ALS intercept units (from American Ambulance) to the scene to transport a total of four patients.

Lifestar was released from standby and all patients were transported via ground ambulance. According to the patients, they had graduated high school the night before and were on their way to the beach, the vehicle was a graduation present (2003 Chevy Cavalier).
