Dwelling Fire in Camden, New Jersey

At the 20 minute mark Battalion 1 reported all visible fire had been knocked down.

At 5 A.M. on March 14, 2007 a box was transmitted in the City of Camden for a dwelling fire at 5th and Chambers. Responding on the box was Engine 1, Engine 6, Ladder 2, Ladder 1, Rescue 1 and Battalion 1. County Radio advised units they received a call reporting smoke and flames from a dwelling.

Rescue 1 arrived and reported a dwelling heavily involved. Battalion 1 arrived and reported at 401 Chambers Street, a 3 story, ordinary, dilapidated burned out vacant, with heavy fire showing from the rear. The all hands was struck adding Engine 8 and Battalion 2 to the box.

Engine 6 went in operation with a 1.75" hand line followed by a back up line. A water supply was established as Rescue 1 performed searches. At the 20 minute mark Battalion 1 reported all visible fire had been knocked down and placed the fire under control 10 minutes later.

No firefighter injuries were reported on the fire ground.
