New Jersey Building Fire

Command reported crews would be operating in a defensive operation and requested additional tenders to the scene.

A Winslow, New Jersey box was dispatched at 1040 pm for a building fire at 323 White Horse Pike on January 18, 2007. Companies from Winslow, Waterford and West Berlin were dispatched to the scene.

Camden County Communications informed units responding that police were on location with a building, fully involved. 2500 arrived on location and reported the vacant Fireside Steakhouse, 50x50, fully involved. Command reported crews would be operating in a defensive operation and requested additional tenders to the scene.

Crews arrived on location and established a water supply shuttle. Crews set up 2 engines at the fire building and placed a ladder pipe in service. Crews also placed several handlines in service. Chesilhurst, Nesco, Folsom and Indian Mills were special called to the scene.

Crews fought the blaze for an hour before bringing it under control. No injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation by the Camden County Fire Marshals Office. Units from Pine Hill, Berlin and Cecil were called for cover assignments.
