Maine Firefighters Battle Barn Fire

On June 9, 2004 at 0044 hours the Gorham Fire Department responded with automatic aid companies to a reported barn fire at the intersection of Main Street and Mosher Road.

On June 9, 2004 at 0044 hours the Gorham Fire Department responded with automatic aid companies to a reported barn fire at the intersection of Main Street and Mosher Road.

Engine 1, the first arriving company, reported a large wood frame barn fully involved and requested a second alarm at 0050 hours. Car 1 arriving on scene at 0055 hours, assumed command and requested a third alarm at 0056 and a fourth alarm at 0105 with task force groups to cover empty stations. Fire crews worked for approximately 2 1/2 hours to gain control of the fire. Interior crews with big lines made a stand in the farm house to stop the spread of fire.
