Restaurant Burns in New Jersey

Units arrived to find heavy fire.

Firefighters from the City of Linwood Fire Department, Atlantic County, N.J., responded at 5:55 pm on Jan. 6, to the Cheeseboard Restaurant for a structure fire.

Units arrived to find heavy fire emitting from a two-story wood frame structure, part of a strip mall called Central Square.

Linwood Chief Dimetrious Foster immediately requested mutual aid from the Cities of Somers Point and Northfield Fire Departments for an engine and a ladder from each. Longport, Scullville, Cardiff, West Atlantic City, and Mays Landing volunteer fire companies were alerted to cover the three towns.

The cause is under investigation.
