St. Amant, LA Crews Respond to Truck Fire

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire in the truck. Nobody was injured in the fire and damage is estimated at over $5500.

Shortly before 11:00 PM, on Tuesday December 26, 2006, the St. Amant Volunteer Fire Department Firefighters were called to a truck fire at Hwy 431 and Helen Drive.

While responding crews reported a large plume of black smoke and when they arrived, they found the front end of a 1989 GMC 1500 involved in fire. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire in the truck. Nobody was injured in the fire and damage is estimated at over $5500. The owner of the truck reported that he was driving North Bound on Hwy 431 when he noticed flames dropping out the bottom of the vehicle.
