In Mt Airy, at approximately 3:30 pm Dec. 12, over 70 firefighters from Carroll, Howard, Frederick and Montgomery Countiescbattled a two-alarm townhouse fire. The fire was originally reported as a deck fire, and first arriving companies found smoke pushing from three townhouses. A second alarm was quickly called.
Firefighters stayed on the scene for several hours. The cause of the fire under investigation.
