Third Working Fire in Two Days in Camden City, New Jersey

Crews worked on the interior knocking down the bulk of the fire before switching to defensive operations.

Eastside boxes keep rolling in keeping firefighters busy through the midnight hours. Engines 9, 11, Ladders 3,1, Rescue 1 and Battalion 2 were dispatched for a reported dwelling fire on the 100 block 26th Street on Dec. 12, around 3 a.m.

Battalion 2 arrived and reported a 2 story twin with heavy fire throughout. The all hands was struck on arrival. Squad 7 and Battalion 1 were added to the box.

Engine 9 layed in and went in operation with a 1.75" handline on arrival. Crews worked on the interior knocking down the bulk of the fire before switching to defensive operations. Crews placed several handlines in service from the exterior to bring the blaze under control.

The property and the exposure were vacant at the time of the fire. No firefighter injuries were reported. This was the third working fire in two days on the Eastside.
