2-Alarm Fire in a 4 Story Dwelling

Firefighters remained on the scene until early in the afternoon dousing hot spots and cleaning up.

On December 9, 2006, The Holyoke, Massachusetts Fire Department responded to a 2-alarm fire in a 4 story dwelling. It happened at the corner of Pine Streetand Dwight Street.

Firefighters arrived on the scene at midnight. They discovered heavy fire in the cockloft of the building and mounted an aggressive interior attack.

Crews used a ladder pipe from Truck Company One and a Wagon Battery from Engine Company One to knock down exterior fire while multiple hand lines attacked the fully involved cockloft from the fourth floor.

Firefighters remained on the scene until early in the afternoon dousing hot spots and cleaning up.

The fire, which destroyed the building's roof and fourth floor, is currently under investigation.
