Emergency Crews Respond to Fatal SUV vs. Semi-Truck in Los Angeles, California

One adult female was killed when the vehicle she was driving collided with a semi-truck and was crushed, on Highway 126 in the Santa Clarita area of Los Angeles County, California on June 10, 2004.

One adult female was killed when the vehicle she was driving collided with a semi-truck and was crushed, on Highway 126 in the Santa Clarita area of Los Angeles County, California on June 10, 2004.

The initial dispatch included 2 Engines, 1 Truck, 1 Paramedic Squad and AMR Ambulance. LA County Engine 76, first to arrive, additionally requested an Air Squad, USAR Task Force 134 and assistance from LA City Fire Department's Heavy Rescue 56, due to the complexity of the extrication. Utilizing various extrication tools, the patient was extricated and pronounced dead on scene from multi-system trauma.

The California Highway Patrol is handling the investigation.
