Early the morning of May 25th, Yuma Firefighters responded to a vehicle vs. house. The occupant of the vehicle was uninjured. However, the house had sustained serious damage when the car actually pushed a portion of a bearing wall away from the foundation. The car entered into a bedroom, fortunately the occupant of the bedroom, while rudely awakened, was not injured.

The Fire Marshal was called to the scene, and the decision was made to shore up the corner of the house prior to removing the vehicle. Rescue 1crew responded with the Technical Rescue vehicle, and the crews from Engine 3 and Rescue 1 worked together to accomplish the shoring-up process.
