30 firefighters worked for nearly 35 minutes to bring the fire under control. No injuries were reported, however several families were displaced.

Walterboro, South Carolina Fire Department arrived at Lincoln apartments at 404 Witsell Street to find heavy fire conditions. Two apartments units were already heavily involved with 1/2 the roof on fire. The call was received at 5:48, Saturday 4-November. Firefighters made an initial attack with two 1-3/4 handlines. Mutual aid was requested from Colleton County Fire-Rescue and the remainder of the building was evacuated.

Fire-Rescue Engine 1901 laid 800 feet of 5 inch hose for supply. 30 firefighters worked for nearly 35 minutes to bring the fire under control. No injuries were reported, however several families were displaced. The Red Cross responded to offer aid to those who lost their homes. The fire appeared to have started from a heating unit. Six apartments received damage from the fire.

Walterboro Engine 1, Engine 2, and Engine 3 responded. Colleton County Engine 1901, Ladder 1907, Battalion 1, Medic 19, Medic 27 responded. Walterboro Lt. Chris Cook served as Incident Commander.
