Dwelling Fire in Camden, New Jersey

On the morning of Nov. 4, at approx 0425 hrs. Camden City Firefighters from Engine Co’s 9, 11; Ladders 3, 1; Rescue 1 and Battalion 2 were dispatched to the area of 27th Street and Sherman Avenue for a reported dwelling fire.

On the morning of Nov.4, at approx 0425 hrs. Camden City Firefighters from Engine Co's 9, 11; Ladders 3, 1; Rescue 1 and Battalion 2 were dispatched to the area of 27th Street and Sherman Avenue for a reported dwelling fire.

Engine Co. 11 and Battalion 2 arrived on location and reported a 2 story E/O/R Vacant Dwelling with heavy fire showing in the rear placing all hands operating.

Battalion 2 then requested an additional Engine and Battalion 1 which brought Squad 7. Shortly after Battalion 2 also requested an additional Ladder Company to assume the duties of the RIT.

Ladder 2 was dispatched, and at the 10 Min report, Battalion 2 reported all hands operating with 2 handlines making good progress.

The fire was placed under control within 30 mins and the Battalion corrected the address as 2413 Sherman Avenue. No injuries were reported at the scene.
