Crawford County, Pennsylvania Firefighters Battle House Fire

At 1:49 a.m. Saturday, May 22, 2004 the Cochranton VFD Department #4, in Crawford County, Pennsylvania was dispatched for a working structure fire on Route 285 at "Refrigerator Bend."

At 1:49 a.m. Saturday, May 22, 2004 the Cochranton VFD Department #4, in Crawford County, Pennsylvania was dispatched for a working structure fire on Route 285 at "Refrigerator Bend."

According to pre-plans Greenwood Department-40 was dispatched for a full assist and Sheakleyville Department-81 (Mercer County) was dispatched for a tanker.

Department-4 Chief 1 arrived on location and confirmed a working fire in a 1 story wood frame residential with an exposure also on fire. Department -4 Chief-1 advised county to upgrade Department-81 to a full assist and dispatch Vernon Central Department-23 for a full assist.

Cochranton Engine -10 arrived on the scene and went into service with two 1-3/4 inch pre-connects to the C and D sides.

Due to "Colliers Mansion" type conditions all personnel were advised to exit the structure and go into defensive operations.
