Montgomery, New York Firefighters respond to Multiple Alarm Apartment Fire

At 1 a.m. on Saturday May 15, 2004 the Montgomery Fire Department was alerted for a structure fire on Patchett Way.

At 1 a.m. on Saturday May 15, 2004 the Montgomery Fire Department was alerted for a structure fire on Patchett Way.

Responding units were advised that Town Police were on scene with a top floor apartment well involved. Incident Command (Chief Jim Ferguson) transmitted a Second Alarm Tanker Task Force.

Chief Ferguson arrived on scene, reported fire through the roof and requested additional mutual aid from Coldenham for a FAST Team.

Using the deck gun on the engine, firefighters made a quick knockdown and began an aggressive interior attack holding the main body of fire to one unit.

Assisting at the scene were units from Maybrook, Coldenham, Walden and Bullville along with the Town of Montgomery Volunteer Ambulance Corps and Mobile Life Support Services for rehab.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Orange County Fire Investigation Unit.
