Construction Accident at Charlotte, North Carolina NBA Arena Sends One to Area Hospital

On Friday morning Charlotte Firefighters and Medics were called to the scene of a construction accident at the NBA arena to treat an injured worker.

Charlotte, N.C. -- On Friday morning Charlotte Firefighters and Medics were called to the scene of a construction accident at the NBA arena to treat an injured worker.

Engine 1 arrived to find the male worker suffering a serious head injury. He had been struck by construction materials in the second floor area of the future home of the NBA Charlotte Bobcats.

Engine 1 took command and requested a ladder company to respond for additional manpower and equipment to safely remove the injured worker using a stokes basket.

The victim was quickly treated and stabilized with IV therapy, then carried to a nearby Medic unit.
