On May 5, 2004 at 20:07:29 hours a fire struck a family dwelling at 323 N. 9th Street.
First arriving Engine 32, and Ladder 51 found fire in the second floor of the structure. As other companies arrived, fire broke from the windows of the second floor.
All eight Pottsville fire companies responded to the alarm.
The fire was determined to be accidental by fire investigators.
The fire displaced six family members living in the home.
Firefighters remained on scene for about two hours.
