Pennsylvania Firefighters Battle Building Fire

The City of Jeannette Fire Department was dispatched to a reported house fire at 112 N. 3rd St. in the city at 23:29 hrs. on April 24, 2004.

The City of Jeannette Fire Department was dispatched to a reported house fire at 112 N. 3rd St. in the city at 23:29 hrs. on April 24, 2004.

First arriving units found a 3 story duplex brick construction, abandoned house, with heavy fire showing on the 2nd and 3rd floors on Sector 1, 2, & 3 sides.

First due Engine 112 8 layed a 5" line into the front of the house and set up operations with Tower Ladder 112.

Eng 112 7 layed dual 3" lines and layed into the rear of the house.

Tower Ladder crews and interior crews brought the fire under control at 00:06 hrs.

Crews continued heavy overhaul for appox. 1 1/2 hrs.

No injuries were reported, fire is under investigation, suspiscious nature.

Stand by companies were Ladder 87 (Harrison City) at the scene, E-21 (Grapeville), & E-106 (Grandview) at Station 112.

Jeannette crews were assisted by Air 79-2 (Greensburg) with overhaul, and Salvage 24 (Southwest Greensburg).
