Kodiak, Alaska Fire & Rescue Responds to Vehicle Rollover

On Wednesday April 7, 2004 an SUV traveling at a high rate of speed lost control while going around a corner, flipped on its side, and slid down the road approximately 50 feet.

On Wednesday, April 7, 2004 an SUV traveling at a high rate of speed lost control while going around a corner, flipped on its side, and slid down the road approximately 50 feet.

The initial dispatch at 8:50 PM was for a single vehicle rollover with unknown injuries. The Alaska State Troopers, Kodiak Police Department, and Kodiak Area Fire & Rescue responded.

Upon arrival at the scene, the Bayside Fire Chief assumed command and gave all incoming units their assignments.

There were six juveniles in the vehicle. All six exited the vehicle prior to Fire and EMS arrival, three fled the scene, and one juvenile was treated on scene and released to the parents. There were no other reported injuries. Alaska State Troopers determined the vehicle was stolen and is still under investigation.
