Cincinnati Firefighters Respond to Blaze

There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.

On Oct. 11 at 8:38 p.m., the Cincinnati Fire Communication Center received a telephone call from a neighbor reporting a structure fire at the above location. Initial fire units encountered a two-story residential building fully involved in fire. A defensive exterior fire fighting operation was conducted, utilizing aerial ladder-pipes along with 2.5 -inch fire attack lines, set-up on the exterior of the building. It took approximately one-hour before the fire was brought under control.

A fire investigator was called to the scene to assist with fire determination. This was a vacant residential structure. The cause of this fire is listed as 'Undetermined". Damage is estimated at $40,000.00 dollars. Duke Energy was called to the scene to insure utilities were shut-off.

Twenty-five fire personnel were summoned to this incident. There were no injuries to civilians or fire fighters. Fire personnel were on the scene for approximately two and one half hours. It was undetermined if smoke detectors were present in the vacant structure.

Alarm Response was: Engines 21 & 12, Trucks 21 and 17, RATT 19, Districts 2 District 3, R24 and Squad 14.
