Colorado Firefighters Retrieve Vehicle from Lake

Aug. 1, 2008
It is possible that the vehicle had been stolen and discarded.

At approximately 8:45 a.m. on July 25, firefighter/divers from Greeley's Union Colony Fire Rescue Dive Team in Greeley, Colo., were called to Seeley Lake to assist the Eaton Fire Protection District and the Weld County Sheriff's Office to recover a vehicle that had been discovered in the lake.

It was not known whether of not there were any victims of the incident or the circumstances as to how the vehicle ended up about 50 feet from the shore on the east side of the lake.

Upon their arrival, divers entered the water and conducted a search of the vehicle and the water in the immediate surrounding area. No victims were found.

Divers then attached a tow truck's cable so that the vehicle could be pulled to the shore where law enforcement began their investigation. It is possible that the vehicle had been stolen and discarded.
