A Minnesota farmer went home for lunch Sunday, July 6. But, his break was short-lived. He was notified that his tractor and baler were on fire.

Crews from the Stacy Lent Area Fire Department arrived to find them burning in a field adjacent to I-35, about 40 miles north of Minneapolis. The smoke could be seen for miles and slowed traffic returning from the holiday weekend.

The crew of the first arriving pumper stretched two hand lines to knock down the fire. Two water tankers also responded because of the remote location.

Crews had to do aggressive overhaul that included removing burning grass from the baler.
