New York Firefighters Respond to Blaze

July 2, 2008

On Friday, June 27 at approximately 4:30 p.m., Chief Rob King from the Latham, N.Y. Fire Department came upon a structure fire at 80 Miller Road in the Boght Fire District.

The original fire was located in the attached garage and the power wires to the residence had already burned through and dropped off the house, they were live and bouncing around the driveway at the front of the residence.

Boght, Latham, and the Verdoy Fire Departments were originally dispatched to the scene; a 2nd alarm was called along with a Signal 30 (Working Fire) early into the fire by Asst Chief Scott St.Dennis of the Boght Fire Department.

Numerous agencies were called upon for man power to relieve the original crews due to the high temperatures and humidity that day.
