At 17:11 on Sunday, November 10th, The Greece Ridge Fire Department received multiple calls for a structure fire.

Within 2 minutes, the on-duty Battalion Chief arrived on scene with heavy fire showing form the roof of a multiple family dwelling and transmitted a report of the possibility of people trapped.

An aggressive interior attack was attempted but withdrawn in a matter of minutes when it was determined that no victims were in the building and that the truss roof was in imminent danger of collapse due to heavy fire conditions.

Exterior operations consisting of multiple hand lines and an Aerial master stream were then used to darken down the fire. Defensive tactics did save the connected apartment units witch sustained minimal damage.

At 18:27 hours the Chief of Department declared the fire under control but units would be on scene till late into the night overhauling and picking up.

A total of 5 units were destroyed in the blaze which was caused by a faulty riser. No injuries were reported to fire or civilian personnel that required mutual aid form Barnard FD (1 Engine / 1 Rescue / 1 Truck), the City of Rochester (1 Quint / 1 Midi) Gates FD (1 Engine / 1 Rescue) and North Greece FD (1 Rescue).
