As Tropical Storm Isidore made landfall on the Central Gulf Coast, St. Tammany Fire Protection District #1, Slidell, Louisiana prepared for the worst. Due to high winds and storm surges, our department was already spread thin responding to numerous evacuations from low lying areas, medical calls and other fire calls.
