At 1705hrs, Engine 30, Truck 17, Ambulance 30, and additional units from the 2nd and 1st Battalions were sent to 5200 Drake Place S.E. for the report of a house on fire.
While enroute, Ambulance 30 advised of smoke conditions in the area as they approached the scene.
Units from the Heights arrived on the scene with a one story, single-family house with smoke showing from all sides and heavy fire showing from sides A and D.
Engine 30's crew advanced a 200-foot line to put a knock on the fire while Truck 17 handled ventilation, ladders and initial seraches.
Command 2 held E30 and Truck 17 for overhaul and released the remainder of the companies. Fire investigators were called in to determine the cause of the fire.
