New York Firefighters Respond to House Fire

It was found out that the homeowner was out of town.

On Thursday, April 17 at approximately 9:30 a.m., the Laurelton Fire Dept. received a call from a resident about smoke coming from a house on Culver Pkwy.

Automatic mutual aid, one engine company with manpower from the Ridge-Culver Fire Department was also dispatched.

Personnel on Laurelton's Quint 160 went on location with a working house fire. Reports were that no one was home but there might be a dog inside. A RIT team from the West Webster FD was immediately called for, along with an engine company/manpower from the City of Rochester Fire Department.

The City of Rochester also provided a Quint and Midi to fill-in at Laurelton's quarters.

The first firefighters found fire in the basement. It had spread to an upper floor.

The house sustained heavy smoke damage and moderate fire damage. The fire was under control in approximately 30 minutes. It was found out that the homeowner and dog were out of town along with the dog. No injuries were reported.

Along with Laurelton's Quint, they sent Engine 162 and Rescue 168. Ridge-Culver sent Engine 184, the City of Rochester sent Engine 16 & West Webster sent Engine 122.
