Fatal Home Fire in Lakeview, New York

During the operation, family and friends reported that a male occupant of the home was missing. A forty-two year old man was later found dead after this raging house fire.

On arrival at the Glenwood Road home, units found a two story private dwelling completely engulfed in flames. Neighbors reported hearing a loud explosion shortly before witnessing the fire on their normally quiet block.

During the operation, family and friends reported that a male occupant of the home was missing. Units on the scene made a desperate search for the possible victim but were unable to locate anyone due to the heavy fire condition.

Several hours after the initial alarm, after pumps were used to drain the basement, a male victim was located on the lower level. Nassau County Fire Marshals and Police were at the scene to investigate what they determined to be a suspicious fire.

Several firefighters sustained minor injuries while battling the blaze.
