2 Alarm NJ Fire

Jan. 12, 2012

On January 9, 2012 at 12:52 p.m. Camden City Companies were dispatched for a reported dwelling fire in the East Side of the City.  Two Engines, 3 Ladders and the Battalion were dispatched on the box.

A 3rd Engine Company was added to the box as Camden County Communications were receiving multiple calls for 3 houses on fire at 26th St. and High St.

Battalion 2 arrived on location and reported a 2 story frame dwelling with heavy fire conditions to the rear of the dwelling with exposures striking the All Hands Box.  Crews secured a water supply and placed hand lines in operation as searches were being performed.  The Truck Company arrived and opened up.

At the 10 minute mark Command reported 3 lines in operation with heavy fire conditions 1st and 2nd floor with the fire still doubtful.

All companies were pulled from the building with heavy fire and smoke conditions and set up for defensive operations in the rear.  The 2nd Alarm was struck.

Crews knocked the fire down in the rear and re entered the structure to open up.  The fire was placed under control around the 30 minute mark.

No injures were reported on the fire ground.  The American Red Cross was on scene tending to the displaced occupants.
