Camden, NJ Multiple Dwelling Fire

On February 3rd, 2012 a dwelling fire with a report of people trapped was reported on the 600 block of Beidman Ave in East Camden at 9:15 A.M. 

A full box and an additional Engine Company was dispatched as Camden County Communications received multiple calls for multiple houses on fire with a occupant being rescued by neighbors.

Battalion 2 arrived and reported at 640 Beidman Ave, a  1 story middle of the row dwelling with heavy fire showing Division A.  Engine 11 arrived and stretched a 1 ¾” hand line as Engine 9 secured the water supply and placed the back up line in operation.

The Ladder 3 opened up and worked with Ladder 2 to perform searches.  All searches were negative in the building.  Ladder 1 went to the roof to open up. 

Battalion 2 reported All Companies were working with the fire contained to the original fire building with smoke in the exposures. 

EMS treated and transported an occupant from an exposure with smoke inhalation. 

The fire was knocked down and placed under control. 

The Camden City Fire Marshals have the fire under investigation.
