California Crash Claims Two Lives

CALFire responded to a cut and rescue accident in the northern San Diego County community of Bonsall on April 15.

Engine 3381 was first on scene and reported two vehicles with major damage. CALFire Battalion Chief Nick Schuler assumed command and immediately ordered an airship.

The driver of the red sedan was trapped in the wreckage and pronounced dead at scene. His passenger was transported via Mercy Air to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido but was pronounced enroute.

The deceased were husband and wife and were possibly lost when they pulled out in front an SUV at approximately 55 mph.
