Minnesota Firefighters Rescue Dog From Fire

Firefighters rescued a dog from a townhome fire in Coon Rapids on May 29.

Crews found the fire burning in the living room of the townhome on Eagle Circle around 12:30 p.m. A general alarm was sounded for addtional crews.

The fire was placed under control in about 20 minutes and when firefighters were searching the home they found a 130-pound dog hiding in a closet.The dog was removed from the structure by firefighters and reunited with its owner.

Paramedics from Allina EMS gave the dog oxygen and then doused the canine with a a hoseline to clean the soot from its fur coat.
