Minnesota Garage Fire Reaches Two Alarms

Sept. 10, 2012

Seven units were needed to bring a fully engulfed garage under control before it spread to an attached home in Eagan just after 5 p.m. on Sept. 9.

The garage of 1676 Oakbrooke Way had heavy smoke showing and Chief 4 requested a second alarm after arriving. Moments later he reported that the attached garage was fully involved.

First-due Engine 3 dropped a pre-connect in front of the house and began a defensive attack. Engine 3 Crew 2 secured their own water supply.

Ladder 1 arrived shortly after and assisted with fire attack and a second line was pulled off of Engine 3 to battle the flames.

As additional resources arrived on scene, crews began to check the structure for extension.

Units at the scene include Engines 1, 2, 3, 4, 42, Ladders 1, 2, Rehab 2, Utility 2, Chief 1, 3, 4 and the fire marshal.
