Dec. 1, 2012

Chicago firefighters battled a fire that spread through two homes on Nov. 26, leaving one person with serious burns.

Units responded to the 5000 block of West Winona, a dead end street which posed accessed issues for firefighters.

Tower Ladder 23 was set up in front of the main fire building and Engine 79 backed down the street to lead out.

Engine 69 stretched two hoselines through a vacant lot to access the heavy fire in the rear of the building.

Crews used master streams from Tower Ladder 23's to darken down fire in one of the homes and a number of hoselines were used to bring the fire under control.

Firefighters rescued several dogs from the home.
