Fla. Collision Sends Pickup into Trees

At about 3:45 p.m. on Jan. 10, units from the City of Deltona Fire Department and the Orange City Fire Department responded to an accident on Interstate 4 in Deltona.

Crews arrived to find that a pick up hauling a small trailer had collided with an SUV causing the pickup truck to lose control and strike some trees along the interstate. The driver of the pickup truck was treated by firefighters and paramedics from Volusia County EMS. The driver was was transported to Halifax Trauma Center in Daytona Beach with non-life threatening injuries.

The occupants of the other vehicle did not suffer any injuries.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
